Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, and those closest to him during this incredibly difficult time. We ask for privacy for his family and our team as we grieve this tragic loss.”
Savannah Police Department confirmed that 30-year-old Tyler Linn has been arrested in connection with the shooting. He is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault. Authorities say the shooting occurred around 4:10 p.m. Sunday, when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the Target parking lot. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Traywick was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries. The suspect remained on the scene until police arrived.

According to Alderman Purtee, the shooting stemmed from an argument over a parking spot. Savannah Mayor Van Johnson also addressed the tragedy, emphasizing the preventable nature of the violence:
“No disagreement over a parking space, or anything else should ever end in the loss of life. This needless, unnecessary violence underscores the daily pain felt by families across our city and the urgency of our collective work to reduce gun violence and strengthen community safety.”
Authorities reported that Tyler Linn served in the U.S. Army from August 2015 to October 2023. He was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield as an unmanned aircraft systems repairer from December 2021 until leaving the military last October. He held the rank of Specialist and had no deployments during his service.
