Officials later identified the man as Boris Jozic of Morton Grove, Illinois. Jozic was a well-known personal trainer, former Mr. Illinois bodybuilding champion, and owner of Steel Fitness Club. Authorities stated that the woman who died was his wife, Cristina Gatia Jozic. The couple had recently arrived from the United States and had checked into the resort just one day earlier, reportedly to celebrate their honeymoon after being married over the weekend.

While the investigation remains ongoing, law enforcement officials indicated that the deaths are being treated as a domestic incident with no threat to the public. No additional suspects are believed to be involved.

As a precaution during the investigation, police temporarily restricted access to parts of the resort, including the pool area, while evidence was collected and guests were asked to avoid certain locations on the property.

News of the couple’s deaths has prompted an outpouring of grief, particularly in Illinois, where Boris Jozic was widely recognized in fitness and bodybuilding circles. Friends and colleagues have described him as dedicated to health, discipline, and physical training, making the circumstances surrounding the incident especially difficult for many to comprehend.

Aruban authorities have not released further details as they continue their investigation and work with U.S. officials to notify and support family members.
